Arrived there in the night and stood there for at least one our and nobody took us so we slept on the football field nearby and had some food in the nearby Restaurant (very nice owner ) . So we tried it the next day also wait like 1 hour and then a nice lady took us to trebenje . All in all ok place if you pass by this village―Jonei23

Place is good, outside the city, its just that people don't want to take you to the border. We got a ride to Latsva (10km ahead) after more than 2m5 hrs, and from there we met a local who gave us a lift to the border. After the border gets easier.―Anonymous

Maybe I got really lucky but I get a ride to Niksic in 5min. Bus stop is good, I was worried about people willing to take me through border, but it was easy as I couldn't imagine.―Anonymous

That's very good spot to Trebinje. About 3-5pm there is a lot of people going back from work in Dubrovnik. This spot is also used by locals, there was like 4 guys hitchhiking, so I went down to Kaufland for some shopping, when I came back there were gone and I get a ride in about 10min. To get there I walked from Dubrovnik old town, there is an old road between the sea and main road. Quite long uphill walk, but views are amazing and spot for hitchhiking is worth it also.―Anonymous

Hitching with 3 people, the spot looked pretty good with quite some traffic and gas station but we still had to wait for some time. Eventually got picked up by a funny couple. When we had to wait in line at the border, the driver wanted to get as close as possible to the car in front of us. Then at one point he kept going and his girlfriend was like what are you doing?? And then he bumped into the car in front of us and that car bumped into the one in front of him. And we where shocked in the back seat. The guy said that he confused the brake pedal with the clutch pedal! We didn't really understand how any driver could confuse that especially since he was a driver by profession hahaha. Well, he paid some money to the angry people outside and that was that. A bit later on, when we were on the road again, suddenly around a corner there were cows on the road. One calf was totally unimpressed by our presence and didn't move an inch. This time, our guy managed to find the brake. A split second later, a car appeared behind us and had to break and swerve to the side in order not to hit us or the cows...After some interesting conversations we reached the beautiful small town of Trebinje. What a day

3 people hitchhiking. Usually we get picked up a lot faster in Bosnia. Eventually got a ride from a very friendly local who didn't even need to go anywhere, just liked to drive!―Wagaforbalkan

I was dropped off here after a long ride from Split. Not a great spot, lot of traffic, but felt like only people who go to the airport or to the local market are around. Better to get down to the airport and try your luck there. It's not that far even for walking. (I got my ride at the airport)―Anonymous

Best spot around, I had a sign saying Monte Negro, but not too many people, even who went there were willing to stop. Good traffic though, so I in the end found someone (they needed to convince me that they are not taxi and I needed to convince them that I am not looking for a taxi 😅)―Anonymous

May be an anomalously good experiance, but the first car stopped (they said they heard my accent and i was from their country as i was exiting passport control) and took me to the airport! beware that there is a singificant walk between the two border posts.―bolshoye
